Gauze
Gauze absorbs exudate and protects the wound bed. Use sterile gauze pads for open wounds; non-sterile rolls for secondary wrapping.
Hydrocolloid
Great for low-to-moderate exudate wounds; forms a gel that keeps the wound moist and supports healing.
Foam dressings
Higher absorbency; useful for pressure injuries and post-op incisions with more drainage.
